The US healthcare system is one of the largest and most complex industries in the world.
Despite decades of digitization, we spend over $1 trillion a year on healthcare administration. Preventable medical error is the 3rd leading cause of death in the US.
At the same time, we are in the midst of a step-change in AI capabilities. Frontier models are rapidly improving in reasoning, tool use, and multimodal understanding. Broader deployment of these models into healthcare workflows could unlock hundreds of billions of dollars in economic value, significantly improve patient care, and bring joy back to the practice of medicine.
However, the gap between what models do in academic benchmarks versus actual deployments remains wide.
At Kinetic Systems, we are working to bridge this gap and unlock the full potential of AI agents to solve real-world healthcare tasks.
Based in San Francisco, we are an applied AI research lab whose team's PhD research has helped to advance the state-of-the-art in tightly coupling AI model development with a deep understanding of real-world healthcare workflows, data, and deployment constraints.
Our vision is simple:
To build the infrastructure for an autonomous hospital, where intelligent agents transform static systems of record into Kinetic Systems of care.
To achieve this vision...
- We partner with AI researchers to help them improve their models with more realistic datasets, evals, and environments.
- We work with healthcare organizations to identify, prioritize, and automate their highest value workflows.
We are fortunate to be backed by a group of exceptional investors, including General Catalyst, Factory, Conviction, and Box Group, as well as amazing angels and advisors such as Chris Ré, Nigam Shah, and others.
